Riese & Müller Nevo vs Charger

Riese & Müller Nevo vs Charger

The Nevo and Charger sit alongside each other as Riese & Müller's all-rounder range: no full suspension, but a comfortable, efficient platform built for daily riding on tarmac, canal paths and light gravel. Both are offered with the same breadth of motor and drivetrain choice, from a simple automatic hub gear to Rohloff and Pinion gearboxes, so the decision again comes down largely to frame and riding position.

Frame geometry

The Nevo is built around an unusually low, ultra-accessible step-through frame — lower than most step-through e-bikes on the market — with the battery fully integrated into the down tube. The Charger is offered as a diamond frame or a mixte (partial step-through) frame, giving a slightly more upright, traditional riding position with a stiffer front end.

Ride feel

Owners and reviewers consistently describe the Nevo as stable and confidence-inspiring at low speed, which suits urban riding, frequent stops, and less confident or returning riders. The Charger’s stiffer frame is better suited to riders who want a more direct, sportier feel, or who plan to ride further and faster on open roads.

Which one for you?

Choose the Nevo if easy mounting and low-speed confidence matter most — it’s a strong choice for shorter riders, anyone returning to cycling, or households sharing one bike between different riders. Choose the Charger if you want a more traditional riding position, plan longer rides at higher average speeds, or simply prefer the look and feel of a diamond or mixte frame.

Both the Nevo5 and Charger5 are available to test ride at Helmwind Cycles — the easiest way to feel the difference in geometry for yourself.
